Fanuc Servo Axis Alarm Diagnostics
Fanuc servo amplifiers are essential components of CNC systems. Understanding their alarms helps in diagnosing issues.
1. Alarm SV0301 - APC Alarm: Communication Error
The CNC has lost communication with the absolute pulse coder. Causes: Cable noise, connector issues, or a failure in the driver's interface board. Action: Verify cable shielding and test the line receiver circuits on the amplifier board.
2. Alarm SV0401 - V-Ready Off
The servo amplifier is not ready to run. Causes: Faulty emergency stop loop, interface cable issue, or an internal control board failure. Action: Check the E-stop circuit, inspect the interface cables, and replace faulty components on the control card.
3. Alarm SV0438 - Motor Overcurrent
The drive has detected excessive current in the motor circuit. Causes: Motor short circuit or a damaged amplifier power stage. Action: Perform static diode tests and replace shorted IGBT modules and driver ICs as needed.
